YPN welcomed a group of enthusiastic young professionals for its monthly networking event, held at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse on Tuesday, March 16. One of the largest crowds YPN has seen all year enjoyed drinks and appetizer’s in Del Frisco’s wine vault on the lower level (it’s rumored the most expensive bottle is over $3500.) Young professionals from diverse industries discussed their jobs, companies, and ways to connect their networks. Many waited in anticipation for our guest speaker, Rich Furino, General Manager of Del Frisco’s.
Rich spoke about what makes the restaurant industry in Philadelphia unique among other metropolitan areas. The competition between steakhouses is fierce, but Rich held fast to the strategy that you should do what you do best with no fear of the competition. He also outlined some business strategies and measures that the restaurant is taking to keep the doors open and patrons content. Much laughter was heard as Rich reminisced of his time traveling across the United States with the Sullivan Restaurant company and spoke about his excitement to be back in Philadelphia to open Del Frisco’s.
We thank our sponsors Clear, Del Frisco’s, St. Joe’s, TD Bank and the YPN Board and Event Committee for making the event possible. See you on Monday, April 5, for our annual “Unplugged” event with the Mayor.
