December 16 was a nice reminder of what some winter weather can do to city traffic. But a wintry mix from Mother Nature could not keep nearly 200 young professionals from taking over the Kimmel Center on this Thursday night. YPN members came out to network, enjoy some fine food & drink, and hear from Ed Cambron, Executive Director of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). Mr. Cambron described PIFA as a 25-day showcase of newly commissioned works, unexpected arts partnerships, emerging art forms, and classic performances to residents and tourists alike. Business cards were drawn for prizes that included tickets to a performance by the Roots’ ?uestlove in April. For more information on PIFA and all PIFA-related events, please visit their website and social media outlets at www.pifa.com.

YPN members also helped spread holiday cheer at the Kimmel Center event by dropping off new toys and making generous donations to be given to the children at McClure Elementary School in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. The Volunteer Committee was able to drop off 104 toys the next morning to McClure. YPN is very proud to be a part of the McClure Elementary School culture by being involved in a number of different events throughout the year. These events include Philadelphia Cares Day, Career Day, pep rallies, and Parent Educational meetings, among others.

We look forward to seeing everyone involved in upcoming events including the Girard College networking event on March 10 and the McClure Elementary Career Day on March 11. To register, please visit www.ypnphilly.com.
