With a modern floor plan, an excellent food spread, and great views of the city, The Hub CityView was the perfect setting for yet another successful Young Professionals Network event, which was aptly titled “Success in the City.”
The event, now in its fifth year, had a great turnout from YPN veterans and new comers alike. Attendees had the opportunity to network while making their way around the vendor tables to learn about YPN’s partners, upcoming Chamber of Commerce opportunities, and ways to get involved in the community.
The event also featured a distinguished panel discussion with local entrepreneurs. The panelists included Anthony Bucci, Co-Founder, Revzilla Motorsports; Nicole Cashman, President and CEO, Cashman and Associates; Paul Steinke, General Manager, Reading Terminal Market; and Nakia Stith, CEO, Top of the Clock, Inc. The panel was moderated by Bill Decker, President and Chief Operating Officer, The Hub.
Each of the panelists offered a great perspective on what it takes to run a successful business in Philadelphia. They offered stories about working long hours, living on ramen noodles, taking over businesses, and capitalizing on the opportunities that our city offers.
As someone who is generally critical of panel discussions, I can honestly say that I enjoyed this one. It was funny at times, entertaining, and informative. I am sure that everyone in attendance walked away from the event with new contacts and a new understanding of what it takes to be a success in the city.
