On June 10, YPN volunteers honored and celebrated kids from McClure Elementary at the annual YPN Spring Fling Day. YPN created this day to reward kids with perfect attendance and great citizenship. Over the years, the number of kids who are able to attend this fun day grew so much! This year, 50 kids met the requirements of either perfect attendance or displayed great citizenship in and out of the classroom. Every year they look forward to a fun day of face painting, water balloon tossing, and dancing among many other great activities. A number of students even remarked that it was their third year in a row attending the Spring Fling!
Not only was this a great day for the kids, but it’s also a great day for the YPN volunteers who ran all the games and activities. A few even were able to keep up their dancing moves with the kids!
This event is a great culmination to a year of volunteering with YPN. It’s memorable not only for the kids, but for the volunteers as well, who dedicate part of their work day to participate and make this a day that every kid strives to attend. A special thanks to board members Stephanie Balan, Chantelle Fitzgerald and Dan Brown for organizing this day.
Be sure to attend YPN’s next networking event on July 20 at 777 S. Broad Street as we honor YPN’s Volunteer of the Year! More information can be found here.
