As a member of the Association’s senior management team, Mr. Solotoff assists in assuring that the goals of the Association remain appropriately prioritized and implemented. He oversees the design and advancement of strategic thinking, planning, systems, culture initiatives, and fulfillment of the mission established by the Association.

Cristian Macelaru has been with the Philadelphia Orchestra for two years now. He conducts special non-subscription performances and covers concerts, and many of the ensemble’s guest conductors. A native of Romania, Mr. Macelaru comes to the Orchestra from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he served on the conducting staff and recently completed his Master of Music degree in conducting.

Mr. Solotoff and Mr. Macelaru will explore the importance of arts and culture in enhancing Philadelphia and in enriching peoples’ lives. They will also discuss the Orchestra’s worldwide presence, the importance of the younger generation to the Philadelphia Orchestra’s future, and the current development of a program targeting young buyers.
