Thursday, October 10 marked the 213th Annual Meeting of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC). Over 1,200 of the region’s top business leaders filled the tables of the Convention Center’s Terrace Ballroom for networking, breakfast and presentations.
The meeting began with Rob Wonderling, GPCC President & CEO, as he welcomed attendees and provided a high-level overview of the direction of the Chamber and its affiliates. It was followed by remarks from GPCC Board Chairman, Daniel K Fitzpatrick, Mid-Atlantic Regional CEO for RBS Citizens. Mr. Fitzpatrick focused on issues that impact the Greater Philadelphia region such as education, tax reform and industry/job creation through the recent energy boom in Northern Pennsylvania.
Chris May and Jessica Dean, co-anchors for CBS 3 CW Philly, also provided remarks, and Gerry Fasano, Vice President, Strategy & Business Development and Valley Forge, PA General Manager, Lockheed Martin Corporation, introduced featured speaker Scott Pelley, CBS Evening News Anchor and Managing Editor. Mr. Pelley spent time sharing his favorite interview moments, views on the importance of education, and the impact of journalism on our country.
Rob Wondering closed out the event with his closing remarks and the session broke for the morning.
